Manuela Berndt - Biografie
Die in Leipzig geborene Choreografin absolvierte ihre professionelle Tanz- und Choreografieausbildung am Nationalen Konservatorium von Buenos Aires/Argentinien und an der Northern School of Contemporary Dance in Leeds/GB.
Als freischaffende Künstlerin hat Manuela mit verschiedenen Kompanien, wie zum Beispiel Senza Tempo (Barcelona), Attakkalari Dance Company (Bangalore/India), Diversity Dance (Huddersfield), The Institute for Crazy Dancing und Nordic Allure (Leeds) zusammengearbeitet und darüber hinaus ein Masterstudium in Choreografie an Fontys Dance Academy in Tilburg/Niederlande abgeschlossen.
Seit 2003 entwickelt sie ihre eigenen Choreografien und ist residierende Künstlerin am Yorkshire Dance Centre in Leeds und Studios International – Interdisciplinary Centre for Art and Media Technology in Höfgen. Neben ihren Performances in Großbritannien, den Niederlanden und Deutschland führt Manuela auch Auftragsarbeiten und Tanzseminare in Europa und Südamerika durch. Als Choreografin, Autorin und Dozentin spezialisiert sie sich auf Forsythe Improvisation Technologies, Bewegungsanalyse und kollektive Kompositionsmethoden und unterrichtet des Weiteren Hatha und Vinyasa Yoga.
Für ihre internationalen Projekte und Residenzen mit anderen Künstlern erhielt die Choreografin verschiedene Subventionen und Stipendien und wurde mit ihrer Produktion Body of Work zu einer Reihe von internationalen Festivals und Aufführungsorten eingeladen.
